Desert Places God Spaces main graphic with the kit palette
Desert Places God Spaces. The palette strip along the top is part of the deliverable, not decoration.
A photo overlay treatment from the Worshiper kit
Worshiper, as a photo overlay. Same kit has to work over somebody else's photography.
A vertical scripture story graphic from the O Holy Night kit
O Holy Night, as a scripture story. Nine by sixteen, same look.
01What a kit has to do

Sunday Social sells church media teams a library they can pull from, and a SZN Kit is one full sermon-series look inside it. Not a graphic. The whole set: main graphics, scripture posts, service time posts, worship set posts, speaker quote posts, photo overlays, slide designs, lower thirds, and stories, at 4K and at 1080, as layered PSDs and as Canva templates, with a style guide on top.

So the design problem is not really the key art. It is that one idea has to hold up across all of that, and then survive a person I will never meet opening it in Canva on a Thursday and swapping in their own sermon title, their own photo, their own service times.

02How I build one

It starts on Pinterest. I put a board together for the series and let it fill up before I open anything, because the direction is easier to find in other people's work than on a blank artboard.

Then the 16:9 graphic. That is where the idea gets settled, and everything after it is build-out: the stories, the slides, the lower thirds, the overlays, the post sizes. Each kit ships with a style guide so a church can keep making things inside it after I am gone.

The part I enjoyed most was working little easter eggs into the graphics. Small things nobody asked for, in templates going out to churches I will never meet, that most people are never going to notice.

03Where it landed

Six kits of mine are in the library: 21 Days of Prayer, O Holy Night, Worshiper, Jesus Is Life, Desert Places God Spaces, and Perspective. Each one lists the designer, which is a nice thing for a template shop to do and not every one does it.

They go out to churches I have no relationship with and never hear back from, which is a strange way to work after years of client projects. Somebody is running a Sunday off one of these right now and I have no idea who.
